Where is NSBE headed?
The National Directives of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) is the yearly focus of how the serving National Executive Board plans to accomplish the goals of the National Strategic Plan and ultimately the National Long range Plan. These directives will be followed by the regions and implemented by the chapters.
The National Directives for 2010-2011:
As 2010-2011 Chairperson for the National Society of Black Engineers, I have the great pleasure of setting our organization's goals for the year. As we strive to grow in leaps and bounds at all levels, we must remain focused. We must maintain this focus as we develop our programs, our events, and our national curriculum for success. These directives will ensure that we achieve our goals for a productive and effective year. They have been created to accomplish the one overarching goal that forever guides this organization: the Mission. It is my desire to set our minds toward complete fulfillment of our Mission this year.
“Our mission IS the Mission.”
Academic Excellence
To fully achieve the goals of this Society, we will work toward a model of academic improvement on EVERY level of membership. With academic success and retention as our objectives; we will develop new initiatives and enhance our existing programs to improve our members' academic reporting, performance, and recognition.
Pipeline Development
Understanding that the future is our responsibility; we will work toward developing a more concrete method by which to positively impact our communities. We will look to further expand and support targeted programs like SEEK, and engage our chapters in a grassroots approach to assure that we are positively affecting every level of our members, from our NSBE Jr. to our Alumni.
