Greetings NSBE Members! This message is a brief update of the process for obtaining Academic Pyramid of Excellence (A.P.E.) recognition and for submitting your official transcript for A.P.E. Status and Scholarships.  

Please send in your membership ID number along with your transcript.

Academic Pyramid of Excellence

This program was developed to recognize members for outstanding academic achievement on the chapter, regional and national levels.

Members must submit an official transcript or GPA verification form.

These levels are based on cumulative GPAs. NSBE All-STARS include:

•     Excel (GPA requirement – 3.0 -3.19)

•     Torchbearer (GPA requirement – 3.2 – 3.59)

•     Honors (GPA requirement – 3.6+)

The following is a list of benefits for confirmed GPAs

•     Recognized with Academic Excellence (AEx) ribbons at the Fall Regional Conference

•     Discounted registration rates at Fall Regional Conference and National Convention (GPA 3.0+)

•     Name included in Program Book at Fall Regional Conference and National Convention Magazine

•     A reception at National Convention

•     Recognized with certificates and pins at 1 or 2 of the general sessions at National Convention

•     Reserved Seats at Golden Torch Awards

•     VIP access to Career Fair at National Convention (GPA 3.0+)

The Process:

When completing your membership on NSBE Online, you should have self-declared your current cumulative GPA in the Membership Module.  If you plan to apply for scholarships, you are required to list your self-declared GPA in the "Common Scholarships Information" section of the Scholarship Module on NSBE Online as well as in your membership profile.

If your self-declared GPA meets the requirements listed above, you should receive an automatic email notification regarding your "pending" A.P.E. status. The email notification will instruct you to forward your most current official transcript to the address listed below so that World HQ Programs can "confirm" your GPA.  Once your official transcript is received, we will enter your CONFIRMED GPA in your NSBE Online record and mark your A.P.E. status as ACTIVE. You should then receive an email confirmation that you have official Academic Pyramid of Excellence Status.

And that's it!!!  No extra forms to complete, just ONE official copy of your transcript.  That same transcript can also be used for ALL of your scholarships submissions as well!
