Academic Excellence

Academic achievement in all educational endeavors is the philosophy that is the foundation of NSBE’s Academic Excellence Programs. Academic Excellence programs were created to develop a strategic academic support network for all pre-college, undergraduate, and graduate students pursuing degrees in applied science, mathematics, engineering, and technology fields. We are constantly researching, developing, and implementing innovative programs, workshops, and seminars that provide the skills, development, and resource access needed for our members to succeed in their college endeavors.

Technical Excellence

Our Technical Excellence Programs provide our members with opportunities to develop the skills needed to effectively conduct and present scientific research while pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees. These programs not only provide resources and opportunities for undergraduate research experiences, but also focus on the soft skills such as written and verbal skill development that are needed for successful research. For most undergraduates, participation in NSBE Technical Excellence Programs increases interest in graduate level research and enhances those problem-solving and investigative skills that are valued by companies that seek out future employees through NSBE.

Scholarships

NSBE provides various scholarships to our members through our NSBE and Corporate Scholarship Programs. Individual scholarships range in value from $500 to $7,500.”

Leadership & Personal Development

The National Leadership Institute is NSBE’s primary training and development event for our national and regional leaders. Current chapter leaders and members interested in becoming NSBE leaders are provided with leadership and functional skills development through the six regional leadership conferences (RLC). Year-round leadership and personal development programming is offered through executive board meetings, training workshops, and workshops for general members at regional conferences and the national convention. The primary purpose of this program is to enhance the leadership and management skills to prepare members for corporate and community leadership.
