NSBE Policy on Maximum Allowable Scholarship

NSBE Policy on Maximum Allowable Scholarship Recipient Award Value

(Established and approved September 2003)

Dear Member:

The following new policies have been established regarding those that are selected to receive NSBE scholarship awards. This is an active policy for all scholarships moving forward.

NSBE Programs

GUIDELINE #1:
$5000 maximum value cap on the total value of scholarships that any one member can receive in a given program year.

GUIDELINE #2:
Each scholarship recipient can not be awarded more than two (2) scholarships in a given program year.

GUIDELINES #3:
Scholarship recipients will be awarded the highest value in scholarships between the $5000 cap and two scholarship cap guideline, based on being initially selected to receive a given scholarship(s). Recipients will always be given the option providing the highest cash value.

GUIDELINES #4:
Members that apply for more than one scholarship that has an internship requirement MUST rank acceptance of scholarship for awarding, if selected as a recipient. (A member can not accept both internships for a given time period, thus must decide prior to selection which scholarship/internship they would want to accept in priority order.)
